The everyday reality

Most churches run on six tools and a spreadsheet.

A members list in one place. Group chats on a phone app nobody at the church controls. Sermons on a drive somebody forgot to share. A rota on paper. Accounts in a spreadsheet that only one person understands. It works, until the person holding it all steps away.

Eklaysia puts the whole thing in one place, with clear roles for who can see what — so the work survives the people doing it.

One platform

Nine things your church already does. One place to do them.

Every module is part of the same system, so people, giving, attendance, serving and events all speak to each other. Turn on what you need.

People & households

Every member, family and contact in one place, with your own custom fields.

Groups & ministries

Small groups, choir, youth, ushers — each with a leader who sees only their own group.

Chat your church owns

Channels and direct messages, moderated by your leaders, not a social network.

Sermons

Upload, transcribe and publish. A library on your website and in the app.

Events & gatherings

Recurring worship and one-off events, with sign-ups, RSVPs and check-in.

Serving rotas

Build the rota, members confirm, swap, or take an open slot.

Fund accounting

Proper double-entry books, budgets, reports and year-end close.

Assets & facilities

What you own, where it is, and who booked the hall on Saturday.

Your website

Ten designs, nine ready-made pages, live editing. No developer needed.

Communication

Group chat that belongs to the church.

Church channels and direct messages, inside your own system. A ministry group gets its channel automatically. Mentions, replies, pinned messages, search across the whole church — and if someone reports a message, your moderators see it and act, with a record of what happened.

It works on bad connections. Messages are cached, and anything sent with no signal goes out when signal returns.

Illustration: a circle of people around a phone showing a conversation

Moderation your leaders control

Reports go to your moderators. Every action is logged. Retention follows the policy you set.

Protection for minors

Rules for conversations involving minors are enforced by the system, not left to good intentions. Sensitive disclosures require two authorised people.

Private stays private

Direct messages are never searchable, by anyone, by design.

Quiet when it should be

Members mute channels and set quiet hours. Emergency alerts are never silenced.

Emergency SOS. A member in trouble slides one button. Elders and deacons get an urgent alert that ignores quiet hours, and can call, acknowledge and resolve. The member sees that someone is responding.

For multilingual congregations

Preach in one language. Read it in another.

Start a live session and your congregation follows on their phones with rolling captions in their own language. Translation runs only for languages someone is actually reading, so nothing is wasted on an empty room.

Available caption languages today are English plus Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu and Kannada. More can follow the same way.

A live outline

An AI outline of the sermon builds as it is preached.

Your own notes

Tap a point from the outline to drop it into your private notes. They save as you type.

On the record afterwards

The sermon carries on through transcription and publishing, so it is there for anyone who missed it.

Live captions are available in the caption and audio session modes. They are not yet available on the HLS live-stream mode.

Sermons

Upload it once. The rest is done for you.

Upload Sunday’s recording and the system turns it into formats that play everywhere, transcribes it automatically, and drafts a title, a summary and the key points. You edit, then publish — to the app and to your public website, with a podcast feed people can subscribe to.

Any member can record a sermon in the app too. It goes through the same pipeline, then staff review it before anything is published.

Automatic transcription

Every sermon becomes searchable, readable text.

AI draft, human decision

A title, a summary and key points, drafted. Nothing publishes itself.

Review before publish

Draft, submitted, published. Staff decide what goes out.

Meetings and live services

Committee meetings, prayer meetings, and Sunday to the whole congregation.

Hold your meetings inside Eklaysia instead of paying for another conferencing tool. Share one link: members join signed in, and anyone else can verify a one-time code on their phone and join as a listener who can never broadcast.

Hosts and co-hosts have real control — mute someone, stop their video, let a guest speak, make someone view-only, or remove them.

Illustration: a video call grid broadcasting to several phones

One invite link

Works for members and guests. Guests join as listeners only.

Host and co-host controls

Proper meeting management, not a free-for-all.

Content during the call

Pull up song lyrics, the prayer wall or study resources without leaving the meeting.

Live broadcast to the congregation

Stream a service to unlimited viewers over a content network. When the stream ends, it becomes the replay.

Video meetings and live broadcast are on the Premium plan. Meeting recording is not available yet.

In their pocket

The app your members will actually open.

One app for everything a member does with the church. They arrange their own home screen — hide what they don’t use, reorder what they do.

  • Keep up — Church channels and direct messages that work offline.
  • Listen — Sermons with transcripts, and live sessions with captions and personal notes.
  • Pray — Post a request, optionally anonymously, and mark that you are praying for someone else’s.
  • Find people — A church directory where minors are never listed, anyone can hide themselves, and phone and email only appear if that person chose to share them.
  • Turn up — RSVP to a gathering and tap “I’m here” on the day.
  • Serve — Confirm your duty, request a swap, or take an open slot.
  • Read and sing — Study resources your elders approved, and lyrics with adjustable text and a screen that stays awake.
  • See your giving — Your own giving history, grouped by year, and the receipts your church issued you.
  • Report a problem — Sound, projector, seating, lighting — snap a photo and it reaches the right people.
  • Raise an emergency — Slide to send an SOS to the elders.

Android, on Google Play closed testing today. The app’s home screen, navigation and the emergency SOS flow are available in English, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, with more of the app being translated over time.

Your public face

A church website you can actually maintain.

Pick one of ten complete designs, with colours and fonts already matched. Nine pages come pre-filled — Home, About, Ministries, Statement of Faith, Plan Your Visit, Give, Events, Sermons, Contact — and you edit them on the left while the real published page updates on the right.

Nothing goes live until you say so.

Thirteen content blocks

Hero, text, images, galleries, staff, service times, maps, feature cards and more. Drag to reorder.

Connected to everything else

Your events, sermons and prayer board appear on the site automatically.

Your own look

Your colours, your fonts, your navigation. Connecting your own domain name is available on the Premium plan.

Found by search

Titles, descriptions, social previews, sitemap and favicon handled.

Money, done properly

Real books. Not a spreadsheet with formulas in it.

Eklaysia keeps a genuine double-entry fund ledger. Every entry balances. Posted entries can never be quietly edited or deleted — a correction creates a visible reversing entry, so the trail stays clean for whoever audits you.

Illustration: an open ledger book beside a receipt and a stack of coins

Funds kept separate

General, building, missions — with rules about what may be received into each.

Giving records

Record gifts by cash, cheque, bank transfer or transfer reference, with a donor attached or anonymous. Count Sunday’s offering as a batch and post it in one go.

It reaches the ledger by itself

Recorded giving posts to the accounts without anyone re-typing it.

Expenses with a second pair of eyes

Staff submit, someone else approves, then it is paid and posted. Nobody approves their own.

The reports your treasurer asks for

Trial balance, day book, receipts and payments, income and expenditure, balance sheet, fund movement. Financial-year aware, filterable, exportable.

Budgets, locks and year-end

Budget versus actual live, closed months locked against back-dating, and a year-end close you can reverse if you must.

One button for the auditor. Every statutory report exported to a single zip file.

Eklaysia does not process online payments. Giving is recorded by your team, imported from your bank or spreadsheet, or entered as an offering batch. There is no donate button that takes money, and no card, wallet or bank-mandate processing. It is on the roadmap; it is not built yet.

The parts nobody enjoys

Committees, minutes and registers that hold up years later.

Who sits on the board, in what role, for how long. Agendas, attendance and minutes — locked once finalised, with corrections appended as amendments rather than rewritten. Numbered resolutions with printable certified extracts. A versioned document vault with renewal alerts and an access trail.

Conflicts of interest

Declare an interest and the system shows who must step out of which meeting.

AGM pack in one click

Agenda, finalised minutes, passed resolutions, active conflicts and summaries, captured as one immutable PDF. Private sections of minutes are never included.

Church registers

Baptism, confirmation, marriage, burial and membership, with certificates carrying a QR code anyone can scan to check the certificate is genuine.

Underneath all of it

Built so one church can never see another’s records.

Isolation at the database

Every church’s data is fenced at the row level, and every new table ships with a test proving it cannot leak.

A full audit trail

Every administrative change records who did it, what changed and when.

Roles that mean something

Owner, admin, HR admin, ministry leader, moderator, member. Sensitive fields — giving, pastoral notes, salaries — are enforced on the server, not hidden in the screen.

Two-factor for administrators

Mandatory authenticator-app 2FA for anyone with admin access.

Where you are

Country-specific compliance, one country at a time.

The core platform — people, chat, sermons, events, serving, accounting, assets, governance and your website — works for a church anywhere. Statutory compliance is different: it has to be built properly for each country, or not claimed at all.

Today, that country is India: financial-year-numbered 80G receipts, foreign-contribution funds separated in the ledger with the FC-4 export, the 10BD donation statement export, TDS and GST summaries, and payroll with PF, ESI, Professional Tax and TDS. Eklaysia produces the receipts, records and exports behind those filings — you or your auditor still file them. More countries will follow the same way — built, tested, then announced.

Straight answers

Can members give online through Eklaysia?

Not yet. This is the honest answer: there is no payment processing in Eklaysia today. No card, no wallet, no bank mandate, no donate button that takes money. What Eklaysia does is record giving — cash, cheque and bank transfers entered by your team, offering batches counted on Sunday, or bulk-imported from a spreadsheet or your bank — and then keep the funds, the donor records, the receipts and the ledger in order. Online collection is planned. We will say so when it works, and not before.

Is Eklaysia available in my country?

The platform itself is country-neutral — people, chat, sermons, events, serving, accounting, assets, governance and your website work for a church anywhere. Two caveats, honestly: built-in statutory compliance covers India only, and sign-up today asks you to register your organisation in India, with plans priced in Indian rupees. If you are outside India and want to use the platform, email us and we will sort it out with you directly.

Do we need a technical person to set this up?

No. You sign up, create your church, import your people from a spreadsheet, and pick a website design. The parts that usually need a developer — the website, the sermon pipeline, the accounts — are set up from the screen.

Is there an iPhone app?

Not yet. The member app is Android today, in closed testing on Google Play. Everything in the app is also reachable from the web console on any device.

Who can see what?

Roles decide, and the system enforces them rather than trusting the interface. A group leader sees their own group. Salaries are visible only to HR. Pastoral notes are restricted. Minors are excluded from the directory and from celebration lists shown to non-pastoral staff, always. Every administrative change is recorded.

Can we get our data out?

Yes. People, giving, ledger entries, reports and registration lists all export to CSV or Excel, and the finance module produces a complete audit pack as a single zip.
