Real double-entry fund accounting, TDS and GST summaries, PF/ESI/PT payroll. Your website, your church's own chat, video meetings, and sermons live-captioned in six Indian languages. Why India-first matters

Software written elsewhere doesn't know your financial year

  1. 01

Compliance written into the ledger, not bolted on

FY-numbered 80G receipts, 10BD exports for the Income Tax Department, FCRA funds separated at the ledger level with FC-4, TDS (26Q · 194J) and GST summaries, and payroll with PF, ESI, PT and TDS. Not a plug-in. The way the books are built.

  2. 02

Sermons live in six Indian languages

Your preacher speaks; the congregation reads live captions on their own phones in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu or Kannada. Translation runs only for the languages someone is actually reading.

  3. 03

Console and app in your language

The admin console is available in English, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Marathi. The member app's home, navigation and emergency SOS speak English, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu — with more of it translated as we go. Receipts and PDFs render Indic scripts properly, Tamil included.

  4. 04

Phone-first, and forgiving of bad signal

Members sign in with a one-time code on their mobile — no email address required. Chat caches offline and queues what you send until signal returns. Built for a congregation on mobile data, not office fibre.

  5. 05

One platform instead of four subscriptions

Membership software, a spreadsheet, a Tally workaround, a website vendor, a paid video account. Here it's one system, one login, one bill — from ₹0 up to ₹3,999 a month.

Money & compliance

Books that survive an audit — and the Income Tax Department

  • 80G receipts, numbered in sequence by financial year, rendered as PDFs that handle Indic scripts, and emailed to the donor.
  • 10BD export, ready for the annual statement of donations.
  • FCRA funds separated in the ledger itself — the journal engine refuses to mix foreign contribution with domestic money in one entry — plus the FC-4 export and the FCRA asset schedule.
  • TDS (26Q · 194J) on vendor payments and honorariums, and GST output/input summaries by rate slab.
  • Payroll with PF, ESI, Professional Tax and TDS, posting one balanced entry to the ledger, and payslips staff read in their own app.
  • Real double-entry fund accounting — trial balance, day book, receipts & payments, income & expenditure, balance sheet, fund movement, budgets versus actual, period locks, a year-end close wizard and a one-click audit pack. Amounts are held in whole paise; a posted entry can never be quietly edited, only reversed.
  • A ₹2,00,000 cash-gift guard that stops an over-limit cash donation at the point of entry.

Giving here means recording, batching and receipting what your church actually received — cash, cheque, bank transfer or UPI, entered by your team or imported from a spreadsheet. Online payment collection through an Indian payments partner is on the way.

Live translated captions

One pulpit. Six Indian languages.

  • Your church goes live; members open the session on their phones and pick a language chip — Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu or Kannada, or the original English.
  • Captions are transcribed and translated as the sermon runs, with a prompt tuned for biblical vocabulary so the words land the way you meant them.
  • Translation only runs for languages someone is actually reading — a room with no Tamil reader costs nothing in Tamil.
  • A rolling AI outline builds through the sermon, and each member keeps private notes — tap a point from the outline to add it to your own.
  • Migrant congregations, multi-generational families, a visiting preacher from another state: nobody sits through forty minutes they can't follow.

Live captions run on the caption and audio session modes. Broadcast streaming to a large congregation is available separately; captions on that mode are coming.

People & pastoral care

Everyone in one place — with the care that requires

  • Every member, family and contact, with custom fields your tradition actually uses, groups and ministries whose leaders see only their own people, attendance, smart lists, and a CSV import that catches duplicates before they happen.
  • A member directory members can search — where minors are never listed, anyone can hide themselves, and a phone number appears only if that person chose to share it. Elders, deacons, vicars and pastors sit pinned at the top, with the titles your denomination uses.
  • Your church's own chat instead of a group chat nobody owns: channels, replies, mentions, pins, search, voice notes and files — and direct messages that are never searchable by anyone, by design. It caches offline and sends when signal returns.
  • Safeguarding for minors is one enforced policy across the whole system, tested in both directions, with a two-person-authorised export when a disclosure is legally required.
  • Emergency SOS — a member in trouble slides one button and the elders and deacons are alerted instantly, through quiet hours, able to call, acknowledge and resolve. Translated in all five app languages.
  • Prayer wall with a one-tap “I'm praying” mark and the option to post anonymously — masked from other members, always visible to elders and deacons for pastoral care, and the app says so plainly.

Website, sermons & gatherings

A church website you can publish in seven languages

  • Ten complete designs with matched colours and fonts, nine pages already written for you — Home, About, Ministries, Statement of Faith, Plan Your Visit, Give, Events, Sermons, Contact — and thirteen content blocks you drag into place. Edit on the left, watch the real page update on the right.
  • Publish the same site in English, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Marathi. Ask for an AI translation of a page and you get a draft you review before anything goes live — it translates the words only; links, colours and settings are untouched. Proper Indic fonts, a language switcher in native names, correct language tags for search engines.
  • Upload Sunday's recording and it's converted, transcribed automatically, and given a drafted title, summary and key points for you to edit. Any member can record a sermon in the app for staff to review and publish.
  • A public sermon library with player and transcript, a podcast feed people can subscribe to, public event pages with sign-up, and a “Watch Live” block on your own site.
  • Gatherings — Sunday worship, Sunday school, prayer meeting, Bible study, youth — each with its own hub: next occurrence, RSVP, “I'm here” check-in, and whatever the admins link in.
  • Video meetings for committee and prayer meetings, with host controls, a guest link anyone can join by one-time code, and a live broadcast that streams to an unlimited congregation without the cost rising with the crowd.

Video meetings and live broadcast are on the Premium plan. Meeting recording isn't available yet.

One platform

The trustee side of church life, handled

  • Committees, meetings and minutes — minutes lock when finalised, and corrections are appended amendments rather than rewrites. Numbered resolutions with printable certified extracts. A conflict-of-interest register that tells you who must recuse from which meeting. An AGM pack assembled into one PDF from an immutable snapshot.
  • Church registers — baptism, confirmation, marriage, burial, membership — with bilingual certificates and a QR code anyone can scan to check a certificate is genuine.
  • A document vault with versions, renewal alerts, searchable text and a record of who opened what. A compliance calendar with Indian statutory due dates and escalation.
  • Assets and facilities — the register, depreciation posted to the ledger, ten ready-made church categories, hall and vehicle bookings with clash detection, external rentals invoiced into the accounts, equipment checkout, insurance and AMC renewals emailed before they lapse, and QR tags you scan to verify an item is physically there.
  • Volunteer rosters, a help desk where a member photographs a broken projector and staff triage it, resources members can submit for an elder to approve, songbooks with lyrics on the phone, and a Bible quiz with a church leaderboard.
  • Every church's data is fenced off at the database level. Every administrative change is recorded — who, what, when. Two-factor authentication is mandatory for administrators.

Questions

Asked and answered

Is this really built for Indian churches, or just localised?

Built for it. 80G receipts are numbered by financial year and render Indic scripts properly. FCRA separation lives in the journal engine itself, which refuses to mix foreign and domestic money in one entry. 10BD, FC-4, TDS, GST and PF/ESI/PT payroll are part of the accounting, not an add-on. The books are rupee-native and run on the Indian financial year.

Can members give online through Eklaysia?

Not yet, and we'd rather say so. Money moves through your existing UPI, bank or cash channels; Eklaysia records every gift, batches Sunday's offering, keeps the donor history and issues the 80G receipt with the right number. Online payment collection through an Indian payments partner is in the works.

Can we move across from spreadsheets or Tally?

Yes. Bring people in with a CSV or Excel import that catches duplicates, load past donations the same way, and start the ledger with an opening-balance import that has to balance before it's accepted. Choose from five ready-made church charts of accounts, or bring your own structure.

How does it hold up on poor mobile data?

It's built for that. Members sign in with a one-time code on their phone rather than an email address. Chat caches messages and queues what you send until signal returns. Sermon audio is converted to formats that play on modest phones. Live captions are text, so they arrive even when video wouldn't.

Who can see the sensitive things — salaries, giving, pastoral notes?

Only who you decide, and it's enforced on the server rather than hidden in a screen. Salaries need the HR role. Group leaders see their own group. Minors are excluded from the directory and protected by one safeguarding policy across the whole system. Every administrative change records who made it and what changed.

What does it cost to start?

Nothing. The Free plan is ₹0 for up to 50 members, with people, groups, events, chat, sermons and giving records with 80G receipts included. Standard is ₹1,499 and Premium ₹3,999 a month. You can change plan yourself from inside the console.
